Coax Splicer, Telecommunications
TAK Broadband is a leading end-to-end U.S. fiber broadband network construction contractor operating in 42 states. They are seeking a Coax Splicer to focus on splicing, activation, testing, and repair of aerial and underground coaxial cable networks.

Responsibilities
Perform coaxial cable splicing, activation, and testing on live plant
Work with coax cable sizes .500, .625, .750, and .875
Prepare, splice, and secure coax cables and connectors to industry standards
Troubleshoot signal loss, noise, and plant performance issues
Read and interpret system prints, splice diagrams, and work orders
Maintain proper signal levels and system integrity
Operate and maintain splicing tools, meters, and test equipment
Access plant using bucket trucks, ladders, and climbing methods as required
Perform aerial and underground coax splicing work
Work safely around energized power and active communications plant
Perform work in all weather conditions
Perform day and night work as required
Participate in on-call rotation for outages and emergency restoration
Identify and report unsafe conditions or plant issues
Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2+ years of proven experience as a Coax Splicer in telecommunications
Strong experience splicing and troubleshooting coax networks
Hands-on experience with .500, .625, .750, and .875 cable
Ability to read prints and splice documentation
Knowledge of signal level balancing and system performance
Ability to recognize and protect against foreign voltage
Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather
Ability to work on day or night shifts and on-call rotations
Self-motivated and reliable team member
Physically capable of working demanding field work
Ability to work flexible hours as needed based on customer demand
A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role
Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving
Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
Preferred
Bucket truck experience
Experience in HFC networks
Experience in both aerial and underground coax splicing
Familiarity with multiple MSO standard
