Responsibilities
Create and maintain project documentation and plans, including project schedules, resource allocations, and budgets
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project challenges and constraints
Establish project governance structures and communication protocols
Lead and manage geographically dispersed project teams, providing guidance, motivation, and performance feedback
Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication, action items, and follow-up
Monitor project progress and performance against plan, identifying and addressing schedule, scope, or cost deviations
Track project budgets and expenditures to ensure adherence to financial guidelines
Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Utilize appropriate project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or Waterfall, to effectively manage project execution
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders on a regular basis
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization
Serve as a liaison between the IT organization and other business units
Ensure project deliverables are completed and meet defined quality standards
Conduct project closeout activities, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder sign-off
Evaluate project performance and document lessons learned to improve future project execution
Prepare and present project status and performance reports to management
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in IT project management
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance, or be eligible to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance within approximately 90 days
Must have 6 or more years of general full-time professional experience (advanced education may reduce this requirement)
Must have 5 or more years of direct experience in IT project management, including management of high-dollar projects
Must have a general understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and emerging technologies
Must have experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks
Must possess a minimum CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) certification
