Responsibilities
Modernize existing Infrastructure’s existing Slack-based “menu/click” bots (ChatOps, Connie, Palo Bot) into conversational, intent-driven assistants that safely route natural-language requests to backend tools and return reliable, auditable results for network/security/connectivity operations
Qualification
Required
Strong Python backend engineering (production-grade services, clean APIs, tests, packaging)
Slack platform development
Slack APIs (Events, Web API), Block Kit, interactive components
Building/operating bots in Slack channels with proper auth, permissions, and user context
API integration + tool orchestration
Integrating with internal tools/services (REST/GraphQL), handling retries/timeouts, idempotency
Designing 'tool wrappers' for network/security data sources (switch/port status, circuit status, firewall checks)
LLM/Agentic application engineering (practical, production-minded)
Intent detection, entity extraction, tool routing
Prompting patterns + function/tool calling, structured outputs (JSON schemas), evaluation of responses
Guardrails: read vs write separation, approvals, confidence thresholds, fallbacks
Observability (logs/metrics/traces), incident-friendly design, runbooks
Security basics: secrets management, least privilege, audit logs
Preferred
Google Cloud / Vertex AI experience
Building blocks for LLM apps on GCP (Vertex AI, model endpoints, auth/IAM)
Familiarity with Vertex AI Agent Development Kit (ADK) is a plus
Google Workspace APIs (Drive, Docs/Sheets, Calendar or admin-related APIs), OAuth flows
Gemini Live API (or equivalent realtime multimodal) experience for voice/audio assistant use cases
Experience with network/security operations domains (routers/switches/firewalls, monitoring, circuit ops)
Experience building chatops for infra (port checks, interface metrics, compliance checks, outage status)
Familiarity with policy/compliance patterns (PII handling, retention, data isolation)
