Responsibilities
Assist in product development at all stages under guidance of designers: sketching, detail sketches, pulling yarns and stitches, tech-packing (proto stage), trend presentation brochures, presentation boards etc
Seasonal yarn and knit down development
Coordinate samples: check in proto & salesman samples; arrange samples & rolling racks
Measure protos in preparation for fitting
Assist in generating & update line sheets & color cards
Understand the customers by doing market research
Develop comprehensive knowledge of the customer & competition
Shop retail floor
Concept research
Adhere to due dates for all stages of design
Able to adjust to changing business needs
Adjust to Time & Action calendar changes
Send out and follow up on packages for overseas vendors
Coordinate sample requests from sales & marketing etc
Attend fittings with production and technical design
Work with design, sales and production to effectively communicate departmental needs and design requests
Participate in group meetings & trend shopping
Qualification
Required
Minimum of an associate's degree in Fashion or BA in related science
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in knits category
Knowledge of Gauge, Stitches and Garment Construction
Knowledge of Illustrator, PLM and photoshop is a must
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, highly detail oriented and meticulous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
