Experimental Technician
Scalence L.L.C. is looking for an Experimental Technician to join their team in Cupertino, CA. The role involves preparing test specimens, operating laboratory equipment, performing mechanical and thermal tests, and ensuring compliance with safety practices.

Responsibilities
Prepare and set up test specimens and fixtures according to test protocols
Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment, such as Universal Testing Machines, thermal chambers, and microscopes
Perform mechanical and thermal tests following standard operating procedures
Accurately record, organize, and report test data in logs and databases
Assist engineers in developing and refining test methods
Perform routine equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance
Ensure lab safety practices and compliance with EHS policies
Support inventory management of lab supplies, tools, and materials
Qualification
Required
Education: Associate degree, technical diploma, or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered
Hands-on experience with test instrumentation (such as Instron, MTS, Shimadzu, or similar) is a valuable asset
Basic understanding of measurement tools like force/temperature sensors and microscopes
Familiarity with data acquisition software, including Excel, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or equivalent
Strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping skills
Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions effectively
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred
Knowledge of ASTM/ISO testing standards
1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or testing environment
Basic CAD or test fixture design knowledge
