Responsibilities
Support the design and build of data lake and lakehouse environments
Assist in migrating legacy systems (RDBMS, Hadoop, ETL tools) into cloud‑based data lakes
Develop and maintain Spark‑based data pipelines (PySpark or Scala)
Help organize data into raw, curated, and serving layers
Work with columnar formats (Parquet, ORC, Avro) and basic partitioning strategies
Assist with data ingestion from batch and streaming sources
Contribute to data quality checks, validation rules, and metadata updates
Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot pipeline issues and optimize performance
Work within a cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to support data engineering workloads
Qualification
Required
Foundational experience with data lakes
Exposure to big-data tools
Exposure to cloud platforms
Exposure to modern data engineering concepts
Support the design and build of data lake and lakehouse environments
Assist in migrating legacy systems (RDBMS, Hadoop, ETL tools) into cloud-based data lakes
Develop and maintain Spark-based data pipelines (PySpark or Scala)
Help organize data into raw, curated, and serving layers

Preferred
Experience with Databricks, EMR, Glue, ADF, or Dataflow
Exposure to Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi
Basic knowledge of streaming tools (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, Glue, Composer)
Understanding of data governance, lineage, or cataloging tools
