Responsibilities
The person in this position will work closely with other members and interoperability subject matter experts in OIA, various client divisions and program areas, and the state IT division, Strategic Technology Solutions (STS) to support HL7 FHIR interoperability projects
The FHIR Interoperability Specialist plays a vital role in promoting and advancing FHIR to improve interface interoperability across client
Key activities for this position will include contributing significantly to strategic FHIR specific projects, building agency-level readiness and capacity to adopt public health FHIR solutions, development of a client FHIR roadmap, supporting HL7 FHIR interoperability projects such as HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas (i.e., implementation support of query and response or aggregate data priority areas), and supporting client electronic data interchange (EDI) Interoperability Infrastructure & Architecture enhancement activities in alignment with client data modernization efforts
As a member of the Office of Informatics and Analytics, this individual will get exposure and experience in the use and development of interoperability standards, like HL7, and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of informatics projects including system integration, system interoperability, electronic health record implementation, and specific public health reporting projects
This position may require some in-state and possible out-of-state travel
There is also the potential for presentation and public speaking opportunities
Core Informatics staff will assist with emergency response situations when necessary
Qualification
Required
Experience with HL7 FHIR interoperability projects
Ability to work closely with interoperability subject matter experts
Experience in contributing to strategic FHIR specific projects
Knowledge of public health FHIR solutions
Experience in developing a client FHIR roadmap
Support for HL7 FHIR interoperability projects
Experience with electronic data interchange (EDI) Interoperability Infrastructure & Architecture
Exposure to interoperability standards like HL7
Experience in system integration and system interoperability
Experience with electronic health record implementation
Experience with public health reporting projects
Willingness to travel in-state and possibly out-of-state
Potential for presentation and public speaking opportunities
