They are seeking a Controller to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records, enabling sound financial decision-making across the company. Responsibilities
Analyze and review all balance sheet accounts, with particular focus on aged items, deferred revenue, and accruals
Confirm the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement accurately reflect the company’s financial position and performance
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecast future financial trends, and monitor performance against financial goals. Create/implement strategies for business growth
Oversee cash management system including credit facility revolver utilization and cash forecasting/cash flow reporting and modeling
Ensure financial reports are accurate and timely through efficient processes and strong internal controls and implement controls to prevent future discrepancies/ensure compliance with GAAP
Ensure compliance with credit agreement terms and required reporting
Oversee federal, state and local tax compliance and third-party tax advisors
Oversee the Accounts Payable and disbursement functions
Supervision of payroll function and staff. Coordinate with HR on payroll, benefit matters
Oversee day-to-day insurance and risk management matters and liaison with insurance broker in coordination
Develop efficient acquisition processes that allow for seamless integration
Quickly establish trust with the leadership team by providing accurate financial reports
Ensure information is easily accessible to allow for seamless audits across the organization
Train/mentor a high performing team; delegate and supervise tasks effectively
Effectively manage and maneuver cross-functional relationships
Stay up to date on changes in accounting standards/regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Active CPA license with a strong foundation in GAAP and financial reporting
6+ years of progressive corporate accounting/public accounting audit responsibility
Proven experience leading a team of professionals
Demonstrated experience with utilizing accounting software
Can provide examples of partnering with the accounting leadership on complex matters
Must possess a full understanding of what is involved with different audits and what data needs to be pulled with each
Able to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders
Ability to operate as both strategic advisor and hands-on leader
Preferred
Background in public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm) strongly preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, or PE-backed environment preferred
