Perform all aspects of venipuncture including heel-stick and finger-stick
Utilizes proper aseptic technique when performing patient care procedures
Chooses the specimen of choice through knowledge, request, or research for particular test requests
Appropriately handles all aspects of specimen collection, labeling and processing
Performs correct procedures for all laboratory paperwork including patient requisitions, reference laboratory requisitions, documentation of special circumstances, review of billing demographics, daily check off lists, temperature monitoring, preparing monthly records, and annual reports
Qualification
Required
CPT-1 or CPT-2 required
American Heart Association BLS certification required
High school diploma required
Preferred
One year experience as a Phlebotomist preferred
