Management Information Systems Coordinator

The Lundquist Institute is seeking a Management Information Systems Coordinator to support the planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Lundquist Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. Responsibilities

Designs, implements, and maintains qualitative and quantitative data collection, evaluation, and quality improvement tools using WIC systems, including WIC Web Information System Exchange (WISE), and other data platforms
Manages, analyzes, and synthesizes data from agency, site, and individual-level sources to produce actionable reports, dashboards, and evaluation findings
Identifies trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities related to participant access, retention, outcomes, program effectiveness, and operational efficiency
Conducts research to identify data needs and recommends data-driven solutions to improve WIC service delivery
Assesses, analyzes, and reports on CQI data on a quarterly and as-needed basis
Provides data and evaluation consultation to the Executive Director, Associate Executive Director, MIS Manager, and WIC management staff to inform decision-making, program planning, and performance improvement
Supports WIC Services and site managers by providing data-driven feedback, coaching, and technical assistance to improve site operations and outcomes
Assists the WIC Services Unit in setting, monitoring, and achieving annual program goals and objectives
Leads and participates in cross-departmental, data-driven projects aligned with agency priorities
Develops written reports, proposals, and presentations that synthesize data from WIC and external sources
Prepares and delivers presentations for WIC staff and for local, state, and national meetings and conferences
Collaborates with the WIC Services Unit to develop, implement, and evaluate training programs, including in-service and data literacy components
Develops data-related guidelines, procedures, and documentation to promote consistent data use and understanding across the WIC program
Represents the agency on local advisory boards, coalitions, task forces, and committees as assigned
Interfaces with SLAHP and Lundquist Institute staff, other WIC agencies, public health agencies, community-based organizations, and State WIC staff regarding data, evaluation, and program improvement efforts
Attends meetings as directed to remain informed and contribute to discussions related to data analysis, evaluation, and service delivery
Maintains strict confidentiality of staff and participant data and ensures compliance with data privacy and security requirements
Completes required reports and documentation accurately and within established timelines
Maintains a professional, courteous, and customer-service-oriented demeanor in all interactions
Attends required trainings and maintains current knowledge of program development, evaluation standards, and emerging technologies
Works with minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment to organize and complete work
Meets established productivity, accuracy, and task management standards
Works flexible schedules, including outside core business hours, as required by agency needs
Attends WIC Nutrition Assistant training and obtains required certification
Performs other duties and special projects assigned to support efficient unit operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, information systems, business analytics, business administration, or a related field required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data management, analytics, and reporting
Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Tableau, SurveyMonkey, and similar platforms
Familiarity with statistical methods, basic programming concepts, and data visualization techniques
Proficiency with collaboration tools including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Teams
Valid California Driver's License
Proof of personal automobile insurance
Personal transportation with current California vehicle registration
Proficiency in database management, data querying, and report development
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data validation, data cleaning)
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and evaluation methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to operational and programmatic challenges
Ability to evaluate and implement training strategies and stay current on emerging technologies
Experience designing and delivering practical training and technical assistance
Knowledge of data security, privacy, and confidentiality requirements
Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Team-oriented, adaptable, and flexible work style
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with public health and community-based organizations
Sensitivity to and respect for cultural diversity and the characteristics of WIC's target population
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Availability to work dependable and flexible schedules
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, reports, grants, and regulatory guidance
Produces clear, accurate reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation

Demonstrates strong listening, comprehension, attention to detail, and follow-up skills
Processes voicemail and email promptly and keeps supervisors and colleagues appropriately informed
Adheres to Lundquist WIC policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
