Paralegal
TEKsystems is a leading provider of business and technology services, and they are seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support their legal team. The role involves reviewing title documents, handling legal inquiries, and evaluating real estate documentation while collaborating with internal teams.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Understand title and legal documentation including Title Insurance Commitments and Policies
Knowledge of various conveyancing documents including deeds and leasehold documents
Familiarity with Trust documents, Powers of Attorney
Ability to independently review title documents and produce written analysis
Ability to use various programs like MS Word, Outlook and Excel in preparation of documents and correspondence
Knowledge of New York Consolidation, Extension and Modification (CEMA) process a plus but not required
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Monitoring the legal request mailbox: They get legal questions every day in connection with loans they originate (Most of the work they do comes from the mailbox)
Answering questions related to titles
Approving POAs (Power of Attorney), Estate Documents (Trusts), Deeds, items on a Title Commitment
Maybe twice a week there is some manual work like receiving packages that they have to file away/log
They will work closely with the legal request team, Title Track and Servicing
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from a Four (4) year College or University or paralegal certificate from a recognized paralegal program
At least 3-5 years of experience in Real Estate, Title or Foreclosure department of law firm, title insurance company or other legal environment required
Strong analytical skills
Real estate law experience
Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating closely with internal teams
Understands title and legal documentation including Title Insurance Commitments and Policies
Knowledge of various conveyancing documents including deeds and leasehold documents
Familiarity with Trust documents, Powers of Attorney
Ability to independently review title documents and produce written analysis
Ability to use various programs like MS Word, Outlook and Excel in preparation of documents and correspondence
