TrendUp Finance is a small, multi-strategy hedge fund located near New York City. They are seeking a Junior Investment Analyst / Trader to support both the research and trading functions of the fund, conducting research and analysis on investment opportunities across various markets.

Responsibilities

Conducting quantitative and qualitative research to generate insights on investment opportunities across public and private markets
Reviewing, analyzing, modeling, and producing valuation work and market reports
Evaluating portfolio companies, industries, sponsors, and valuation metrics
Contributing to alternative data collection and processing (some travel may be required)
Analyzing macroeconomic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements, and other relevant indicators
Collaborating with team members and performing in-depth due diligence to support trading and investment decisions
Screening new investment opportunities and monitoring existing positions
Tracking financial news, market developments, risks, and new investment products
Independently developing solutions to analytical and research problems

Required

Degree completed or in progress (for interns) in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting
Degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative fields are also welcome
Strong passion for investing and financial markets
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Ability to think independently and challenge consensus when appropriate
Comfortable adapting to alternative or non-traditional investment strategies
Ability to develop clear and well-reasoned investment theses
Strong interest in idea generation

CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
CFOA (Certified Futures & Options Analyst)
Completion of TrendUp Now Level 3 and the TrendUp Specialization & Recruitment Program (SRP)
