Chief Information Officer

Responsibilities
Lead a strategic, integrated, and enterprise-wide information technology function that supports the full scope of the health system’s clinical, academic, and research missions
Build and sustain high-performing teams, cultivate a culture of inclusion, transparency, and fairness, and demonstrate a deep commitment to mentoring and developing staff
Provide leadership, vision, and oversight for information systems and technology, with a strong focus on service excellence
Oversee approximately $240M in labor and operating costs and $29M in capital expenditures
Accountable for the IT Security program, ensuring that all required controls, safeguards, and processes are implemented, operationally effective, and continually optimized
Oversee the clinical informatics program, encompassing both nursing and physician informatics
Collaborate closely with UCLA Campus IT to support the academic mission of UCLA Health Sciences, and with UC Health and UCOP IT partners to ensure alignment and interoperability across the UC academic health system
Qualification
Required
Visionary leader familiar with cutting edge technology and artificial intelligence
Progressive experience as a senior information technology leader in a large, complex academic medical center
Track record of supporting and optimizing electronic medical records
Driving innovation
Improving customer satisfaction
Ensuring strong fiscal performance
Deep understanding of the impact of advanced information systems technology and analytics, including artificial intelligence, on patient care
Understanding of the impact of data sciences on the biomedical research enterprise
Evidence of a management style that inspires a culture of achieving excellence through teamwork, trust, collaboration and accountability
Ability to work in a matrixed environment and engender cooperation and collaboration across departments and silos
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years progressive leadership experience in information technology in a large, research-intensive, complex academic medical center or comparable environment
Preferred
Master's degree in a field related to informatics, data science, or equivalent
At least 10 years' progressive experience in managing and leading within higher education or academic medicine
