Responsibilities
Own day-to-day accounting operations and monthly close
Lead our ERP and finance systems upgrades and implementation
Build forecasting, budgeting, and cash planning capabilities
Translate operations and technology work into clear financial insight
Help prepare the company for future growth, partnerships, and potential fundraising
Primary first-year focus: ERP implementation, core accounting stabilization, and establishment of forecasting and reporting discipline
Lead all accounting activities: general ledger, month/quarter/year-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Ensure GAAP-compliant financials, strong internal controls, and audit/tax readiness
Oversee cost accounting, inventory/WIP valuation, fixed assets, and capex tracking appropriate for a semiconductor manufacturing environment
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
Oversee the purchasing process for materials, supplies, and services, working with operations to balance cost, quality, and lead time
Help establish and maintain approved vendors, pricing, and basic purchasing controls
Monitor cash requirements related to purchasing and inventory to support healthy cash flow
Lead the selection and implementation of the company’s ERP/financial system (e.g., Sage, Acumatica, NetSuite, or similar)
Design chart of accounts, cost structures, and reporting frameworks that reflect how the business operates
Integrate manufacturing, inventory, and operational data into finance workflows
Drive process automation and data integrity across billing, AP, AR, and reporting
Build and maintain operating models, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections
Work with the CEO and department managers to develop annual budgets and longer-term financial plans
Monitor performance vs. plan; analyze variances and recommend corrective actions
Perform scenario analysis to support decisions on new services, capacity expansion, and capital investments
Develop clear, decision-focused reporting for management (and board-level reporting as needed)
Serve as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and leadership team
Translate technical and operational activities into financial and business insights
Support customer, grant, and (as applicable) DoD or other reporting requirements
Help position the company for potential future fundraising, partnerships, or M&A
Qualification
Required
8-15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
Strong background in manufacturing finance, ideally in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or hardware-centric technology
Proven hands-on leadership of at least one ERP or major financial systems implementation, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Deep experience with cost accounting, inventory/WIP, capex, and margin analysis
CPA strongly preferred; CMA or similar credential is a plus
Experience building or upgrading finance functions in growing companies (roughly <$50M revenue)
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; familiarity with ERP/reporting tools is a plus
