Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Operate CNC lathes and/or CNC machining centers (e.g., FANUC ROBODRILLs) to produce parts according to print specifications, following provided CNC programs and setup sheets
Basic Setup: Perform basic machine setups, including loading tools and work holding fixtures, under the guidance of senior machinists or CNC programmers
Quality Checks: Conduct in-process inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify parts meet print specifications, self-resolve minor issues (e.g., wear offsets) and escalating issues to supervisors
Material Handling: Load and unload materials (e.g., Delrin, 316 stainless steel) into machines, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage
Documentation: Record basic production data, such as part counts and inspection results, in metric units, supporting First Article Inspection (FAI) and Final Product Inspection (FPI) processes
Tool Crib Support: Retrieve tools from the tool crib and report shortages to maintain 98% tool availability
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to shop safety and 5S standards
Learning and Development: Participate in training on CNC operation, Mastercam basics, and FANUC controls to build foundational machining skills
Production Efficiency: Achieve a 90% on-time completion rate for assigned machining tasks, minimizing delays under supervision
Quality Standards: Maintain a defect rate below 3% for parts produced, as verified through in-process inspections and FAI/FPI processes, ensuring print compliance
Training Completion: Complete at least two training sessions per quarter on CNC operation or Mastercam basics, demonstrating proficiency within three months
Tool Availability: Report tool shortages promptly, contributing to 98% tool crib availability
Safety Compliance: Achieve 100% compliance with shop safety protocols and 5S standards, with zero safety incidents per quarter
