Quality Control Inspector
Advanced Turbine Systems (ATS) is seeking a QC Surveillance Inspector to provide independent quality oversight for CFM56 engines and modules throughout the maintenance, repair, and overhaul process. This position ensures compliance with FAA regulations and ATS standards while protecting airworthiness and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Perform in-process surveillance inspections on CFM56 engines and modules, including:
Fan Module
LPC / HPC Modules
Combustor Module
HPT / LPT Modules
Provide oversight during:
Disassembly
Cleaning
Inspection
Repair
Assembly
Balancing and testing activities
Verify maintenance is performed strictly in accordance with current, approved technical data (AMM, CMM, EMM, SBs, ADs, EO/MO)
Ensure compliance with:
14 CFR Part 145
ATS RSM and QCM
ATS SOPs, work instructions, and inspection procedures
Identify, document, and report non-conformances, procedural deviations, and quality escapes
Initiate and support Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and root cause investigations
Review and verify:
Work orders and task cards
Inspection buy-backs and sign-offs
Engine and module build records
Traceability, certifications, and LLP documentation
Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
Support airworthiness determinations prior to final inspection and Return to Service (RTS)
Support the Chief Inspector during:
Internal audits
FAA surveillance and inspections
Customer and third-party audits
Serve as a technical quality resource to technicians and leads while maintaining inspection independence
Assist with corrective actions and preventive quality initiatives
Identify quality trends, repeat findings, and systemic risks
Recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and inspection practices
Promote ATS’s culture of compliance, accountability, and safety
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3–5 years experience inspecting or maintaining CFM56 engines and/or modules in an FAA Part 145 environment
Strong working knowledge of: CFM56 engine architecture and module build processes
FAA Part 145 regulations
Inspection methods, limits, and acceptance criteria
Ability to interpret and apply OEM manuals, engineering data, and regulatory requirements
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Preferred
FAA A&P Certificate (preferred)
Prior experience in QC Surveillance or Quality Assurance
Familiarity with NDT processes and inspection requirements
Experience supporting FAA and customer audits
