ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN II
The Colorado Department of Revenue is seeking an Accounting Technician II to work in their Army division. This position involves preparing and processing financial documents, managing transactions, and ensuring data accuracy in financial systems.

Responsibilities
Processing, reconciling, and filing all financial documents for payment and day-to-day financial transactions
Coding and recording invoices, in-kind assistance, and pay applications from the proper accounts
Processing utility payments and tracking of utilities accounts
Devising, preserving, and making entries on all applicable trackers and workbooks
Performing queries and data validation through internal accounting systems
Researching transactions for coding accuracy, researching previous coding, and ensuring data completeness
Inputting, uploading, and validating payment information on various projects
Uploading reports to internal systems for staff queries
Assembling and sustaining project financial transaction records
Organizing and safeguarding all departmental document files, databases, and spreadsheets in accordance with a variety of guidelines
Participating in a variety of internal and external committees
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years of technical accounting experience that included one year of strong maneuvering, manipulating, and linking data between a variety of electronic software systems
Two years of college, university or non-correspondence business school which included eighteen (18) semester credit hours of accounting can substitute for up to two years of the required experience in addition to one year of strong maneuvering, manipulating, and linking data between a variety of electronic software systems
Preferred
fluency in the State Accounting System, CORE
fluency in Microsoft Office with advanced skill in Excel
self motivated, can work independently and take initiative to complete job tasks
strong oral and written communication skills (written skills may be evaluated based upon submitted application)
prior Federal financial training in Resource Management, Fiscal Law, and Cooperative Agreements
