API Sales Manager

Aspen API, part of the Aspen Pharmacare Group, has a long history in producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. They are seeking an experienced API Sales Manager to drive new business growth, maintain customer relationships, and achieve sales goals in the US market, particularly in the West Region.

Responsibilities

Acquires and drives new business growth by identifying and acquiring new customers and strategic partners
Increases and Maintains business relationships with current customers; identifies new business opportunities and tracks them in CRM
Expands Aspen API’s footprint through targeted market development and opportunity conversion, ensuring sustainable revenue growth
Positions and promotes Aspen’s API portfolio and CDMO capabilities to strengthen visibility, competitiveness, and customer preference
Continuously explores new product and CDMO opportunities, translating market insights and customer needs into actionable business plans
Defines customer needs and requirements and communicates those needs and requirements within the organization to achieve maximum responsibility
Help to plan and submit the expected budget for the coming fiscal year
Meets with customers to develop new projects and reports on existing customer projects and their status
Executes, in close co-operation with the Head Marketing, the follow-up strategy for the projects at key accounts
Determines customer forecast for our APIs and ensures follow up on the new projects with expected commercial quantities
Monitors the outstanding receipts along with the Credit Department
Coordinates, in close cooperation with the Head Marketing, the pricing structure for the next year based upon the current marketplace and the forecast from the customer in setting the tier price
Drafts and coordinates secrecy agreements for confidential discussions with the customer and for the release of the Open Part DMF to the customer to protect out IP
Writes visit reports and monthly reports for the general manager’s review on an ongoing basis
Drafts and negotiates supply agreements. Works with customer operations to ensure seamless deliveries
Review and coordinate API pricing with corporate headquarters in OSS NL
Participates in teleconferences with operations, technical for customer questions, queries and concerns. Is the back-up for the Technical & Regulatory Affairs Specialist
Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Required

BS/MSc degree in science (pharmaceutical, biology, chemistry, nursing, physiology or similar)
3-5 Years' Experience in (generic) API, Sales, Business Development, or similar
A clear understanding of the generic pharmaceutical industry and the approval process for new ingredient approval in generic pharmaceutical finished dosage forms
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements for importations and those necessary for ANDA/NDA filing
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and attend industry events (about 30% of time)
Team player with leadership capabilities
Capable of working under heavy commercial pressure and of meeting deadlines
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of work experience with Business Development
