Apprentice Body Technician
Gerber Collision & Glass is one of the largest collision repair companies in North America, seeking to grow its team of passionate professionals. The Apprentice Body Technician will be responsible for completing vehicle body repairs under the supervision of a Mentor Metal Technician while progressing through a structured training program.

Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
Check online I-Car classes assigned weekly, and complete accordingly
Be prepared and knowledgeable for upcoming assessments
Maintain an organized and clean company provided tool box
Protect the interior and exterior non-repair areas from dust, dirt, scratches, primer, overspray, etc
Disassemble and reassemble vehicles
Refit new parts such as bumpers, fenders, grills, moldings, and other bolt-on items
Assist mentors with all areas of the repair process
Complete all repairs in a manner such that the repaired areas are restored to the original manufacturer’s specifications, including door, hood and deck alignments, chassis and frame measurements, and welded on unibody parts
Assist the Mentor Metal Technician in checking all parts for accuracy before starting the repair and notify the parts manager of any incorrect parts or other discrepancies
Qualification
Required
Pass screening assessment of Mechanical Aptitude with at least a score of '40'
Pass screening assessment of Workplace Productivity Profile with at least a score of 'Medium'
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to effectively communicate with others
Should be able to read and understand a work order
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Requires clear close vision
Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
Preferred
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Trade/Vocational school graduate preferred
On the job experience preferred
I-CAR Gold Class preferred
