REIMBURSEMENT OFFICER I

The State of Illinois is seeking to hire a Reimbursement Officer I for the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center located in Chicago, Illinois to perform a variety of professional duties relevant to reimbursement procedures. Responsibilities

Performs a variety of professional duties relevant to reimbursement procedures
Reviews reimbursement accounts on a regularly scheduled basis
Initiates action for collection of unpaid charges including legal documents for claims needing court action
Corresponds and confers with relatives, conservators, attorneys, insurance companies, legislators, federal/state agencies, and other parties to obtain information
Interviews relatives, conservators, attorneys, insurance representatives and other parties to obtain the information needed to determine wills, deeds, birth certificates and other relevant documents
Participates in all Department of Human Services (DHS) and Chicago-Read Mental Health Center mandatory training
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Qualification

Required

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in accounting, economics or business administration, preferably including courses in insurance, estate and probate law
Requires one (1) year of work experience in the reimbursement field
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
