Responsibilities
Appear in courts across all NYC boroughs for divorce and family court hearings
Handle contested and uncontested divorce proceedings
Represent clients in custody, visitation, and child support matters
Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and settlement documents
Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses
Manage discovery and litigation strategy from intake through resolution
Negotiate settlements and advocate during mediations
Maintain frequent client communication and provide practical legal advice
Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-conflict matrimonial litigation
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a Family Law Attorney, Divorce Attorney, or Matrimonial Litigation Associate
Active NY Bar required
Experience handling contested divorce and custody matters
Strong litigation, drafting, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and independently
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred
Prior courtroom or deposition experience
Experience running matters with minimal supervision
Book of business or solo practice background welcomed
Comfort handling sensitive client situations with empathy and professionalism
