Responsibilities

Own and execute the US regional business development strategy aligned with global growth objectives
Drive revenue growth across small molecule API CDMO services, including development, scale-up, and commercial manufacturing
Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across pharma, biotech, and emerging clients
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and disciplined opportunity management
Act as senior commercial point of contact for key US clients and strategic accounts
Lead complex negotiations including MSAs, CDAs, and long-term supply agreements
Partner closely with technical, project management, and manufacturing teams to develop compelling client solutions
Represent the organisation at industry conferences, partnering meetings, and client visits
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four business development professionals
Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for the regional team
Foster a collaborative, high-accountability culture focused on customer success and growth
Support talent development and succession planning within the region
Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and supply chain teams to align commercial commitments with operational capabilities
Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform capacity planning, service offerings, and investment decisions
Collaborate with global leadership on pricing strategy, portfolio positioning, and long-range planning

Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
12+ years of progressive experience in business development or commercial roles within API CDMO or contract manufacturing
Demonstrated success selling API development and manufacturing services to pharma and biotech clients
Proven people leadership experience, including managing and scaling commercial teams
Strong understanding of API lifecycle from early development through commercial supply
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
