Responsibilities

Defines and executes a unified commercial strategy across all product lines, aligned with the enterprise goals and strategy
Drives profitability and financial performance across fully-insured, self-funded ASO, self-funded direct to employer (DTE) and other commercial products; Has a deep understanding of revenue and expense drivers; Can anticipate, explain and address utilization and MLR variances by activating peers and partners from the Care Coverage and Care Delivery systems (e.g., care management, clinical excellence, pharmacy, medical group, network, digital health, etc.)
Partners with the Coverage SVP and other health system leaders (e.g., hospital presidents, strategy team, etc.) to build credible relationships and facilitate market expansion; Directs a sales and account management/client success team; Oversees client retention and competitive positioning across products; Ensures growth strategies and tactics are aligned to the enterprise
Harmonizes product development, pricing, and positioning across diverse commercial offerings; Ensures a unified and coherent go to market approach among the product leaders and digital health product leaders
Collaborates with marketing, operations, finance, network and clinical teams to ensure cohesive execution and drive accountability; Partners with managed care leadership to align on employer pricing strategies, consult on value-based care components in the context of health system payer contracting, and partner on other strategic matters to position the health system as the go-to solution for employers and commercially-insured business
Monitors industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor activity to inform strategy direction
Leads and mentors product leaders and sales and accounts teams to foster a high-performance, accountable culture
Serves as a senior voice in key client and broker/consultant relationships, ensuring responsiveness and service excellence
Establishes KPIs and high-impact dashboards/trackers to monitor growth, utilization, profitability and operational efficiency; Leads efficient and high-impact business reviews with executive leadership
Presents strategic materials and updates, risks, and opportunities to the Health Plan and Quality Alliance Boards as well as regional medical group and other boards as invited

Required

Master's degree (MBA, MHA, etc.) strongly preferred
15+ years in healthcare leadership with deep health plan or broker/benefits consulting experience
Strong understanding of fully insured products, mid-market products, self-funded and level-funded products, third party administrators (TPAs), direct-to-employer (DTE) strategies, and the role of digital health tools
Able to translate market dynamics into actionable strategies with measurable outcomes linked to products within the portfolio
Skilled in interpreting, explaining and actioning P&L statements, pricing models, and cost of care levers
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence others at all levels
Experience driving initiatives from concept to implementation with precision and accountability
Ability to balance internal priorities with external market needs and client expectations
Skilled in leading through transformation and aligning teams
Capable of crafting compelling narratives for diverse audiences from brokers/consultants to providers to boardrooms
Familiarity with state and federal regulations impacting commercial health products and a compatible partner to legal, compliance and regulatory partners
Leads the strategic planning process and collaborates with department directors and senior leadership to facilitate the development of short and long-range goals and objectives
Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
