Biostatistician I/II - 138341
The San Diego Supercomputer Center is a collaborative research center at UC San Diego, and they are seeking a Biostatistician I/II to support Alzheimer's disease research projects. Responsibilities
Contributes to small projects or segments of larger projects with limited scope and complexity, providing analytic, documentation and writing support
Performs standard to moderately complex data analyses; prepares tables, figures, and data visualizations for reports and publications, and assists with study design, documentation and data management workflows
Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts and grant proposals, supporting quality control and data auditing processes, and collaborating with research teams on designated analytical tasks
Works alongside cross-functional teams across multiple projects within the ADCS, including projects involving external vendors
Perform other duties as assigned, as needed
Qualification
Required
Biostatistician I: Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Biostatistician II: Six (6) years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Operating knowledge and demonstrated experience with data analysis and management with languages, including R and SAS
Acquiring knowledge of research function
Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties
Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties
Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline
Basic consultation and communication skills
Good organizational skills, must be able to organize projects, workflow and set priorities
Ability to work with changing priorities and interruptions, ability to meet established deadlines, and excellent troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in biostatistics, bioinformatics, and biomedical research
Master's degree in biostatistics/statistics or related quantitative discipline preferred
