Responsibilities

Aircraft Handling: Safely tow and park aircraft, ensuring proper positioning for maintenance and boarding
Fueling Operations: Perform fueling and defueling of aircraft, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
Pre-Flight Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems and components to ensure readiness for flight
Customer Service: Provide assistance to pilots and crew, addressing any needs or concerns during ground operations
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Assistance in Maintenance Tasks: Support senior technicians in performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on aircraft systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Learn to utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues under the guidance of experienced technicians
Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including detailed reports on inspections and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control processes to ensure all maintenance work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements
Training and Development: Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance practices
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, contributing to a safe working environment

Required

Must have earned your Airframe and Powerplant rating by start date of internship
Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or graduating from an accredited aviation maintenance program
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work at the posted job location
Proficient in reading wire diagrams and performing mechanical troubleshooting
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Eager to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment
Committed to safety and quality in all aspects of work

Preferred

Previous experience in automotive or mechanical roles is a plus, demonstrating a strong mechanical aptitude
