Responsibilities
Taking full ownership of architecting and building core frontend platform components and libraries to support cross-team initiatives
Collaborating closely with design, product, and backend engineering teams to create seamless and performant user experiences
Authentically mentoring and coaching engineers on best practices, code reviews, and technical decisions to elevate the entire team's performance
Developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and accessible web solutions that prioritize the needs of Zocdoc users
Building and fostering strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to align on technical direction and deliverables
Proactively identifying and addressing technical debt, inefficiencies, and gaps in current systems while championing innovation
Qualification
Required
Meaningful experience in building and scaling modern frontend platforms, preferably using React, TypeScript, and Next.js
Candidates for Senior Platform Engineer typically have 5+ years of experience; candidates for Staff Platform Engineer typically have 7+ years of experience
Passion for web performance, accessibility, and design systems that prioritize an excellent user experience
A compassionate, consultative, and confident approach when working with stakeholders at all levels
A fundamental understanding of software development principles, including CI/CD, testing strategies, and version control
The mentality of an entrepreneur/owner and a strong bias to action, always looking for ways to improve and grow
Superb communication skills! You believe in keeping all stakeholders in the loop and know that multiple mediums of communication are the key to success
