Mid LevelKineoLabs is looking for a passionate, hands-on optical systems engineer who loves building real hardware. In this role, you will work on next-generation spectroscopy and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) products, owning designs from early prototypes through working systems.
Responsibilities
Build, align, and test opto-electronic systems and laser assemblies
Perform hands-on optical alignment and system integration
Develop and debug electronics and control systems (microcontrollers, I²C/SPI/GPIO, basic analog circuits, stepper motors, displays)
Contribute to mechanical and opto-mechanical design (CAD, fixtures, 3D printing)
Write test and control software (Python, VB.NET/C#, C)
Qualification
Required
Passionate, hands-on optical systems engineer
Experience building real hardware
Ability to align lasers on the bench
Experience wiring up electronics
Ability to tweak mechanics
Experience building, aligning, and testing opto-electronic systems and laser assemblies
Hands-on optical alignment and system integration skills
Ability to develop and debug electronics and control systems (microcontrollers, I²C/SPI/GPIO, basic analog circuits, stepper motors, displays)
Experience contributing to mechanical and opto-mechanical design (CAD, fixtures, 3D printing)
Ability to write test and control software (Python, VB.NET/C#, C)
Strong foundation in optics and alignment
Enjoy working across optics, electronics, mechanics, and software
Experience with lasers, spectroscopy, and/or OCT
Ability to own problems and move fast in a startup environment
