Executive Director

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and implement all administrative and program operations
Responsible for P&L and ensures that financial controls are in place; acts as a good steward of financial resources available to the program
Responsible for ensuring that all program elements comply with all National Accreditation standards and all state and federal regulations
Develops an effective leadership team through ongoing constructive feedback and training
Recruits the best people available from inside or outside; assembles talented staff and builds effective teams
Sets the tone for accountability and drives self and others for results
Ensures that all staff receive the designated training assigned by Aspen BHC and provides additional training to ensure a safe and healing environment for patients and their families
Builds a positive and productive culture by listening to employee opinions, responding timely, and adjusting where appropriate
Communicates vision and takes steps to ensure it is implemented throughout the program
Serves as the designated business unit(s) principal leader, representative, and spokesperson to the local community
Develops and/or implements existing administrative, personnel, and program policies
Ability to use planning, research, foresight, and facility goals and needs to analyze and make decisions without delay while involving appropriate parties
Responsible for operational metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), staffing, growth, and financial targets
Provides operational leadership, execution, and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice
Partners with other leaders to drive ongoing process improvements to enhance clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and cost efficiency
Collaborates with RCM Team to address revenue cycle issues
Improves the capabilities at all levels within the areas of responsibility through assessment and development of existing staff and talent recruitment
Accountable for ensuring all facilities in each region align with company operating standards for behavioral health in conjunction with clinical and medical leadership
Provides leadership and direction to the team on all behavioral health programs, policies, and procedures
Will provide direct supervision to the facility’s management team
Maintains knowledge of current trends in behavioral healthcare and quality improvement
Ensure that effective communication is carried out in all aspects of the designated business unit(s) at all employment levels to ensure consistency and accuracy of both the interpretation and execution of policies and procedures
Establish regular management meetings on multiple levels and ad hoc meetings for special projects to develop and implement strategic initiatives, expansion of programs, and continuous communication of needs or redirection
Completes required risk management training, including investigations, root cause analysis, and risk data review
Implements the organization’s risk management plan to identify, monitor, and reduce harm, including injury, infection risk, property damage, and liability concerns
Conducts annual systemic risk assessments and ensures corrective actions are implemented
Reviews risk across DBHDS-required areas: environment of care, clinical assessment processes, staffing adequacy, use of high-risk procedures, and serious incidents
Ensures risk processes incorporate DBHDS risk triggers and thresholds
Performs and documents annual safety inspections of all service locations and follows up on improvement recommendations
Documents and annually evaluates serious injuries involving employees, contractors, volunteers, students, and visitors
Investigates incidents, conducts root cause analyses, and monitors trends to identify risk patterns
Collaborates with leadership on safety improvements, emergency preparedness, and quality-improvement initiatives

Required

Deep knowledge in provider-based operations; multi-site facility experiences preferred
Proven experience creating and executing strategies that brought together disparate teams with different cultures to create a sustainable and scalable infrastructure
Strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to use data analysis to build actionable insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to convey information efficiently and effectively to various stakeholders and audiences
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and the desire to bring structure to undefined procedures
An ability to quickly get up to speed on new areas and a desire to operate outside your comfort zone
Experience and comfort interact across multiple organizational levels, including management and clinical leadership
Exceptional interpersonal skills and judgment in dealing with critical partners, staff, and patients
Innovative, perceptive, and willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish our mission. Ability to inspire people at all levels of the organization
