Quality Assurance Inspector
Cooper Steel is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting and troubleshooting quality issues on the job site. The role involves conducting audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with onsite management to resolve quality-related issues.

Responsibilities
Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company maintaining Cooper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
Ensure Cooper Steel and subcontractors maintain compliance with AISC, AWS, RCSC, SDI codes and standards
QAI will be assigned to Cooper Steel projects and perform quality audits daily
Review and coordinate issues and discrepancies with the site management team and offer corrective actions and/or request an RFI through the project management team as needed
Coordinate with erector and third-party inspectors to schedule inspections
Advise and consult Cooper Steel On-Site Project Managers and Field Crews on quality related matters that may arise on projects
Assist in Quality Training with Cooper Steel and/or Subcontractor field crews as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the steel erection / welding inspection field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
AWS certified welding inspector
Knowledge of AISC, AWS, RCSC codes and standards, with the ability to research, answer specific questions and solve field quality issues
Strong functional and technical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals
Good judgment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with others
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist, lift, pull, and reach
Use of hands for gripping and grasping required
Specific vision abilities are required
Lifting is required up to 75 lbs
Must be flexible in hours worked and willing to work overtime
