Responsibilities
Youth Coaching & Relationship Building: Build and maintain consistent relationships with young people while providing social, emotional, academic, and career-focused coaching
Academic Advocacy & Planning: Support school engagement through transcript review, school visits, educational advocacy, coordination of tutoring and accommodations, and assistance with transfers to appropriate academic programs
Post-Secondary & Career Development: Guide youth through college, vocational, and workforce pathways, including applications, financial aid, career exploration, and persistence coaching
Housing, Life Skills & Collaboration: Support housing stability and independent living skills while collaborating with case planners, specialists, schools, caregivers, and community partners
Qualification
Required
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Human Services, or a related field required
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience providing 1:1 support to at-risk youth or youth involved in the child welfare or foster care system
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn case management and data systems
Familiarity with NYC Department of Education systems, college application processes, and NYCHA or housing application workflows
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to support diverse youth populations
