Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver clear, compelling, and concise financial updates and presentations to the legal leadership team and other executive stakeholders, translating complex financial data into actionable business narratives
Lead the development, analysis, and management of the short-term and long-term financial plans. This includes long range plan, annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close variance analysis
Independently address new analytical requests, understand the main question being asked, gather relevant data, build models, validate assumptions, perform analysis, and present executive-level summarized results in a compelling manor
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate potential investments, cost-saving initiatives, and strategic business decisions
Partner with business and accounting teams to understand and analyze monthly budget variances, and present actionable insights that help the organization flex and react to short-term changes
Lead and support various ad-hoc financial projects and deep-dives as required by the business leadership
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree or equivalent and minimum of 5+ years FP&A or relevant work experience. Experience will be evaluated based on the Core Competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
Core foundational FP&A experience: accounting, planning, forecasting, variance analysis
Experience building financial and decision support models, along with good analytical and independent problem-solving skills
Track record of identifying opportunities and successfully leading process improvement or other strategic projects
High degree of comfort with ambiguity and an ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels within the organization
Strong MS Excel, Hyperion, Smartview, Tableau and Google suite, or other financial and data visualization software
Good communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way
Intellectual curiosity, fueled by a proactive approach to continuously expand one's skillset
