Legal Assistant
MAC Construction is a company operating in the Construction & Infrastructure sector, delivering commercial and residential projects across the U.S. They are seeking a Remote Legal Assistant to provide focused legal and contract support to the in-house legal team, managing contract lifecycle tasks and providing litigation support.

Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and assemble construction contracts, change orders, subcontracts, and waiver/release documents for legal review and execution
Manage contract lifecycle tasks: maintain templates, track key dates, route documents for signature (DocuSign), and ensure proper storage and version control
Support lien and bond processes: prepare mechanics lien filings/releases, compile supporting documentation, and coordinate with bonding companies and title agents
Provide litigation and claims support: organize discovery materials, draft correspondence, file documents with e-filing portals, and coordinate with outside counsel
Maintain legal calendars and deadlines: docket statutes of limitations, claim deadlines, hearing dates, and insurance notice periods; send timely reminders to stakeholders
Conduct legal research and fact-finding for contract interpretation, insurance coverage, and regulatory compliance; prepare memos and summaries for attorneys
Qualification
Required
Proven experience supporting legal teams in construction, contracting, or in-house environments
Practical knowledge of mechanics lien procedures and related documentation across U.S. jurisdictions
Strong drafting skills for contracts, correspondence, and discovery packages
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and DocuSign for contract workflows
Familiarity with e-filing portals and basic court filing procedures
Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and maintain accurate legal calendars
Preferred
Experience with SharePoint, NetDocuments, or other document management systems
Familiarity with legal research platforms (LexisNexis or Westlaw)
Prior exposure to claims handling, insurance certificate tracking, or bonding procedures
