Responsibilities

Actively advocate for company direction and decisions
Develop an advanced understanding of Viking Masek financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
Complete all duties assigned as part of accounting playbook by the respective workday for timely month end reporting
Provide explanations for variances to budget and EAC (estimated at completion) to mitigate recurrence of issues. Assist with transactions to correct any variances if applicable
Provide detailed account reconciliation backup for various accounts responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness
Review team-prepared account reconciliations and approve them by validating supporting documentation and confirming alignment with the general ledger
Ensure inventory is maintained accurately and reflect true financial position by conducting regular audits and reconciliations
Provide short and long-term cashflow forecasts and ensure accuracy by performing regular audits against actuals
Complete weekly report of status on outstanding payments including any updates on accounts previously escalated per standard process
Enhance project reporting accuracy and efficiency through process improvements. Regularly review procedures and tools to meet business needs and industry standards. Encourage team members to suggest and adopt best practices
Handle other ad hoc requests or reporting as needed to support the accounting leadership group
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a project-based environment
Two or more years of managerial experience
Proficiency in ERP (Epicor preferred) or financial software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, PowerPoint, accounting software)
Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a deadline-sensitive, fast-paced environment
Strong relationship management and influencing skills
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is highly desirable
