Case Manager - Farmworker Career Development Program

Responsibilities

Recruits new students. (14%)
Provides career counseling to include conducting assessment; determining eligibility; conducting in-take interviews; addressing barriers to participation; determining the need for support services; and assigning to the appropriate status. (11%)
Provides assistance to students with tuition, textbooks, exams, GED, uniforms, tools, and any other assistance; registers students; manages payments; and keeps records of payments. (10%)
Reviews, Interprets, and adopts appropriate policies within the national guidelines for the Farmworker Program as needed. Makes decisions regarding program admissions, including testing, assessing prospects’ skill levels, and determining training expenditures. Select necessary training and provides fiscal support for participants. (6%)
Provides supportive counseling and long term follow up for evaluation. (8%)
Provides One Stop Services and referrals via the assessment and evaluation system of the Department of Labor. **(6%)**
Completes all case narratives, recommendations, and reports. (7%)
Work with program participants and community employers; makes binding agreements for the participants and employers which will impact the program operation. (5%)
Makes and enters short- and long-term program plans; assists in developing the objectives of the program; and determines the program direction, which heavily influences the outcomes by which the program is measured. (6%)
Maintains current job listings available to Farmworker participants; identifies the options to select and commit the program’s resources to the participants and employers contacted. (5%)
Maintains payroll and case records for all participants following up on customer referrals to ensure the customer is receiving services as arranged. (6%)
Routinely investigates and settles important program matters; updates Employ Florida information; audits verifications; handles complaints, and resolves any disputes of participants, employers, and community partners. (6%)
Attends meetings regarding customers; submits monthly reports of activities; and maintains communications with agencies as appropriate. (5%)
Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (5%)

Required

Associate degree (Bachelor's degree in Human Services or equivalent field preferred); two (2) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Fluency in Spanish – both verbal and written
Valid Florida driver's license
Knowledge of human behavior, the organization, the employment market in the four-county area, and case work principles
Skill in organizing
Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications
Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, use sound judgement, be efficient, be discrete, be self-motivated, and work independently
