Responsibilities
Guide the preparation of secure postal shipments and armored carrier transports to the Dept of State, regional offices, as well as other end users
Monitor all deliveries to/from platform assuring that security controls are in place
Verify content, carton assembly, and security of shipments and assure that stock items are properly marked, tagged, labeled and placed in proper locations
Directs and assists with loading and unloading cargo, including securing and properly distributing loads and transporting specified carts using a hand-operated power truck
Assist the journeyperson in cleaning to include dust removal, sweeping, vacuuming, disposal of trash and production waste

U.S. Citizenship is Required
Selectee must pass all preemployment requirements prior to appointment
Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service
Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
Selectee must obtain and maintain a secret secret clearance
Selectees must pass a physical examination prior to appointment
Duties require prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching above the shoulder, and climbing
Moderate lifting is required for objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Incumbent is required to have good eye-hand coordination and proficient vision
The incumbent is exposed to low frequency noise generated by bindery equipment
The work is performed indoors, with no exposure to excessive heat or cold
A Strength Test may be required
Preemployment drug test may be required
Applicants must meet the following SCREEN OUT/JOB ELEMENT #1: Ability to do the work of a Printing Plant Worker (Secure Credentials) without more than normal supervision
Skill to set up, operate, and make user adjustments to the shipment label printer
Verifies the integrity of the cartons, seals, and contents
Write shipment receipts, record receipt numbers, and other pertinent information on shipment reports
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered
