Project Director I
Fluor Corporation is dedicated to designing and building projects while fostering a collaborative work environment. They are seeking a Project Director I to manage project execution on Power Generation projects, ensuring compliance with contracts and overall project profitability.

Responsibilities
Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) is emphasized throughout all phases of the project
Ensure execution of all aspects of the project in accordance with contractual obligations, Fluor’s Operating System Requirements (OSR) and the relevant Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP)
Ensure full compliance with Fluor prime contract with regard to client reporting, notifications, project system start-up and close-out requirements
Establish the project baseline (as defined in the OSR), and ensure that it is fully documented, updated throughout all project phases, and appropriately communicated to Fluor project team
Deliver the project in accordance with the project execution and commercial baselines
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Experience in gas fired power generation, with preferable multiple projects experience in combined cycle, simple cycle and cogeneration projects. Must be knowledgeable in power industry project execution, integration between engineering, construction, and commissioning teams. Lump sum execution experience is preferred
Experience working with at least one of the major equipment gas turbine, steam turbine and heat recovery steam generator Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), experience with multiple manufacturers such as GEV, MHPSA, Siemens, Vogt, and Nooter Eriksen a plus
Experience with OEM major equipment packages, such as power island, engineered equipment packages, specifically in regard to interface between OEM equipment and balance of plant equipment. Must have knowledge of OEMs documentation process and integration into EPC's engineering and design work practices
Experience working proposal process through completion of project is a plus with emphasis on proactive setup of successful project execution
Must have extraordinary skills in documenting project scope of work and ensuring scope of work is adhered to by engineering and design teams in accordance with established budgets and schedules
Experience with typical gas fired power generation project interfaces, natural gas suppliers, utility interconnection, makeup water and waste water as well as typical air permit requirements is preferred
Participate in Fluor University
Utilize Knowledge Management processes to capture, support, and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project execution
Participate in sales and marketing efforts

Jobsite experience and understanding of construction safety program
Minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) project management
Project or area management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
Demonstration of successful performance as project manager on a minimum of two (2) medium to large sized projects or multiple project assignments in a significant role on large to very large sized EPFC/CM projects
Completion of all required in-house project management courses in addition to courses obtained from university or other qualified sources
Good knowledge and experience on project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start up, turn over work processes, sequencing, and interfaces
Project Controls and Finance including understanding of: Scheduling (including work force loading), Progress measurement, Risk assessment and management, Code of accounts, Work breakdown structure, Change management, Cost control, Estimating process and planning, Global Pricing Model (GPM), Project Status Review (PSR) and Project Margin Analysis, Report (PMAR) development and reporting
General understanding of contract law and when to engage legal
Regulatory requirements including permitting
Understanding of project funding
Experience of multiple commercial executions structures including Lump Sum/Reimbursable/Guaranteed Maximum price (Gmax)
Proactive - goal orientated with the initiative to influence events positively, lead Fluor project team, and influence client for decision making
Ability to resolve complex problems and to be comfortable in complex project or business environments
Ability to set and maintain high standards of self-performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
Demonstration of innovation, initiative, maturity, and sound judgment
Ability to influence a group of diverse individuals, each with their own goals, needs, and perspectives, to work together effectively for the good of a project
Mobility - for example, relocating to site locations
Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
Certification in project management suggested, for example, Project Management Professional (PMP)
