Financial Analyst

They are seeking a Financial Analyst to support their accounting operations and financial analysis, managing day-to-day accounting and providing insights that inform key business decisions.
Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks Pro, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes leveraging our outsourced team
Own project accounting across multiple grants and contracts, tracking budgets, monitoring burn rates, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements
Partner with the CFO to develop financial reports, dashboards, and analyses that inform strategic decision-making
Streamline financial processes and implement best practices using Bill.com and other financial tools
Support annual audits, budget development, and financial forecasting activities
Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes that increase efficiency and accuracy
Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations and create dashboards
Consistently analyze financial information based on both routine and ad-hoc reports
Interpret financial data to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators
Communicate financial insights suggesting business issues to management
Own payroll administration across geographies, ensuring accurate, timely processing and compliance with local employment, tax, and statutory requirements
Partner closely with People and leadership to administer compensation changes, including salary adjustments, promotions, bonuses, and new-hire setup
Maintain compensation records and ensure alignment between payroll systems, HRIS, and financial reporting
Support annual compensation review cycles by preparing payroll impact analyses, cost scenarios, and reconciliation of approved changes
Ensure accurate tracking and processing of benefits, stipends, and other employee-related payments in coordination with People and Finance
Serve as a key operational partner during performance and compensation cycles, ensuring approved decisions are implemented cleanly and on time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Highly proficient in QuickBooks Pro (desktop or online) with hands-on experience in day-to-day accounting operations
Working knowledge of Bill.com for payment processing and vendor management
Strong experience with project accounting, ideally in a grant-funded, contract-based, or consulting environment
Understanding of GAAP principles and ability to maintain clean, audit-ready books
Excel power user with strong analytical skills and ability to create meaningful financial reports and dashboards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, public health, or nonprofit accounting
Familiarity with federal grant accounting (OMB Uniform Guidance)
Knowledge of indirect cost rate calculations and allocations
Experience with other financial systems or ERP platforms
Experience supporting the People function
