IT Support Specialist - Entry Level

Responsibilities
Provide first-line support via in-person, phone, and e-mail
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in Windows environments
Set up and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
Support CGRS, Inc. software applications as needed
Assist with account provisioning, access control, and hardware setup for onboarding/offboarding
Assist with software updates, license renewals, and basic training for end users
Assist with cloud environment administration under direct guidance and established procedures, including user account provisioning, application access, permission updates, and basic monitoring tasks
Assist with inventory of technology assets and oversee hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, repair, decommissioning)
Coordinate with external vendors for escalations, repairs, replacements, and licensing
Create, maintain, and update technology support documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
Ensure timely resolution of end user support issues in line with service expectations. This will also include ticketing and documentation: create, log, track and resolve issues, escalating to senior IT personnel when required
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience
Learn foundational networking concepts through supervised, task-based support such as cable management, switch port assignments, device connectivity checks, and basic network diagnostics
Follow established IT security policies and procedures while gaining exposure to cybersecurity best practices, data protection standards, and incident reporting requirements
Coordinate with network administrator for higher-level issues
Collaborate with IT and database staff to understand how CGRS Connect™ interacts with internal systems and cloud platforms
Attend educational programs and workshops to support ongoing professional growth
This role does not design systems, configure production infrastructure, or independently implement network or cloud architecture changes
Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) is required; create and execute approved SQL queries as needed or at required intervals
Perform other related duties assigned by the report to manager
Qualification
Required
High school degree or GED
Basic to intermediate proficiency with Windows operating systems and common workstation troubleshooting
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications
Fundamental understanding of IT ticketing systems and issue tracking workflows
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices
Excellent verbal communication, documentation practices, and organizational skills
Strong time-management and self-motivation skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a ticket-driven environment
Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) is required; create and execute approved SQL queries as needed or at required intervals
Must have a valid Colorado Driver's license and required Colorado automobile insurance
Must be able to lift 75 lbs
Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
Position involves sitting 75% of the time
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
2 or more years of experience in a related position
Existing knowledge of programming languages (specifically SQL) is helpful but not required
