Senior IAM Business Analyst
The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is an academic private health system focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality care. They are seeking a Senior IAM Business Analyst to work with business units and IT teams to analyze and document access management requirements, support identity governance, and ensure compliance with access control standards.

Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Work with business units, IT, and compliance teams to identify, analyze, and document access management requirements and workflows. Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for IAM and IGA solutions
Identity Governance and Administration (IGA): Collaborate with IGA administrators to support user lifecycle automation, role-based access control (RBAC), access certification campaigns, and entitlement reviews. Assist in developing and maintaining identity role models, including role mining, entitlement rationalization, and least-privilege enforcement. Support implementation and tuning of access request and approval workflows
Process Analysis and Optimization: Analyze existing IAM and provision processes for gaps, inefficiencies, or compliance risks. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance user experience, automation, and policy alignment. Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives such as identity data quality, attribute synchronization, and provisioning accuracy
Project and Change Management: Support IAM program projects by coordinating with project managers, solution architects, and engineers to ensure business objectives are met. Develop user stories, test scripts, and acceptance criteria; participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation. Document change requests, defects, and enhancement requirements
Compliance and Audit Support: Assist in preparing evidence for internal and external audits, demonstrating compliance with access control and governance standards. Monitor and report on IAM metrics, access certification status, and policy adherence. Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to align IAM processes with enterprise policies and regulatory frameworks
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the communication bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into business terms. Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for business users, IT partners, and auditors regarding IAM policies and tools

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or commensurate experience in the field
At least five years of IT experience in large enterprise environments supporting, operating, or administering systems and complex applications
At least three years of experience in IAM, a closely related field working with identity and authentication automation systems, or similar automation technology
Strong understanding of IAM concepts including authentication, authorization, provisioning, deprovisioning, and directory services
Working knowledge of identity data sources such as Active Directory, HRIS, ERP, and cloud applications
Ability to analyze complex identity data and interpret user access patterns for risk and compliance insights
Proven ability to gather, document, and translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews, process mapping, and workflow documentation
Understanding of access certification, role engineering, and least privilege principles
Familiarity with audit and compliance evidence collection processes
Ability to evaluate and document control effectiveness for identity-related compliance obligations
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation habits
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across IT, HR, compliance, and business units
Preferred
Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred
