Clerical Associate, III (Part-Time)
The New York City Police Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in New York City through community partnership and law enforcement. They are seeking a Clerical Associate, III to perform various clerical duties including managing records, data entry, and correspondence handling.
Law Enforcement
Responsibilities
Perform clerical work in relation to records, files, and reports using alphabetical and numerical procedures
Check records for accuracy of information and edits information in computer systems to update records
Perform moderately difficult and responsible clerical work in maintaining and checking various records
Data entry using automated office systems
Receive, sort, and screen mail from correspondence
Qualification
Required
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization
One year of satisfactory clerical experience
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute
Preferred
This position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a program
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment
City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County
