Responsibilities
Responsible for the end‑to‑end platforms and services that make up the core CVS Health developer toolchain
Lead modernization work, driving the migration from legacy tooling to modern vibrancy tools
Accountable for delivering highly reliable, secure, and consistent CI/CD capabilities at enterprise scale
Guide the rollout and adoption of AI coding assistants across a large engineering population
Build and sustain a high‑performing engineering team
Lead with empathy, trust, and genuine care, creating an environment where engineers feel supported and empowered
Deliver exceptional customer experiences for internal developers and continually improve the tools they use every day
Define long‑term strategy, architectural direction, and roadmaps
Define, implement, and enforce SLOs and SLIs across CI/CD, source control, artifact repositories, and platform services to ensure reliability at enterprise scale
Drive improvements in workflows, processes, and tool usability
Qualification
Required
At least ten (10+) years of IT or backend engineering experience supporting enterprise systems
6+ years of experience with backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud providers such as AWS, GCP and Azure
5+ years of experience administering and scaling GitHub or comparable source control platforms for large engineering populations
4+ years of experience partnering with architecture, product, and program leadership to influence platform direction
4+ years of experience managing enterprise artifact repository solutions such as Jfrog, GAR or Nexus
4+ years of experience managing CI or CD platforms at scale in large engineering organizations
4+ years of experience managing teams with direct reports and leading large engineering organizations across multiple locations
Experience leading teams within Agile or Scrum environments
Preferred
Experience managing multiple large workstreams and dependencies
Experience with backend APIs and major cloud providers
Ability to set a clear vision and translate it into actionable plans
Strong understanding of performance engineering and optimization
Ability to influence decisions through clear and thoughtful communication
History of building strong engineering teams and positive team culture
Experience managing developer tools at enterprise scale and reducing technical debt
Experience administering GitHub at scale, including access management, automation, and security governance
Experience managing GitHub Actions at scale, including workflow optimization, runner strategy, reliability, and cost management
Experience operating artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory, including repository design, lifecycle governance, and CI integration
Hands‑on experience managing CI and CD pipelines at scale, including pipeline design, reliability, performance, and compliance
