The intern will assist in the design and analysis of structural components for substations and transmission projects, gaining hands-on experience and technical skills under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
Assist with the design and analysis of structural components for 69kV – 345kV substations, including steel structures and foundations
Support transmission line projects ranging from 34.5kV to 345kV for both utility and renewable energy systems
Complete design engineering tasks such as drawing markups, as-building support, project scoping, and estimating
Collaborate with engineers to deliver project assignments on schedule and according to design standards
Participate in site visits and training opportunities, gaining exposure to real-world infrastructure and field data collection
Learn to apply relevant codes, standards, and structural design principles used in high-voltage electrical infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, with a minimum of two years of coursework completed by Summer 2026
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2026 at one of our office locations listed
Demonstrate openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S
Preferred
Completion of structural analysis coursework is required; steel and concrete design coursework is preferred
Additional technical software knowledge is a plus
