Responsibilities
Performs clerical and secretarial duties pertaining to the criminal and civil functions of the Constable’s office. Answers in person inquiries, letters, telephone calls, and takes messages. Maintains files, types correspondence, greets and directs visitors to appropriate locations
Receives and processes civil / criminal papers from various judges
Enters required data on all civil/criminal cases using the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS), which primarily is used for the issuing, serving, and clearing of warrants
Makes photocopies of warrants and distributes to assigned deputy
Regular attendance and timeliness is required
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Applicant must have a High School Diploma/GED
Experience in responsible clerical procedures, organizational skills, computers
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Requires the ability to deal with sometimes-hostile individuals while on the telephone and in person in a pleasant and personable manner
Must have an acceptable personal background and ability to obtain a TLETS certification
Preferred
Bilingual
2 years of related clerical experience
