Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact between Coastline and our outsourced collections firm, fostering effective communication and collaboration to swiftly address collection issues or concerns
Review delinquency reports, collection queues, and returned items to determine appropriate collection actions. Maintain a bi-weekly spreadsheet of problem accounts or accounts requiring monitoring due to past status
Contact members in compliance with the FDCPA, setting up and negotiating payment arrangements according to collection policy. Utilize various resources to skip-trace un-locatable members
Provide guidance and support to branch personnel on collection-related matters
Create and mail letters or other collection correspondence as required. Scan and organize relevant documents into the Synergy system for accessibility and proper record-keeping
Develop, refine, and maintain collection procedures and forms, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory standards
Perform file maintenance for charged off loans, Visa, or negative accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Qualification
Required
Minimum of two years of collections experience involving direct member contact (not through an auto-dialer)
High school diploma or equivalency required
Maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity
Keep the servicing leadership team informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department
Create and develop procedures and forms for job related duties
Provide a friendly, professional, accurate service and support to all members and staff
Preferred
Equivalent experience in a financial institution or credit union, is preferred
