Piping Engineer (3747)

Responsibilities
Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities
Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc
Must be able to do pipe stress analysis. Experience with AutoPipe is a plus but not required
Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1
Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output
Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable
Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees
Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment
Qualification
Required
An active DOE Q Clearance is required to be considered for this position
Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience or a MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience
A Q clearance or ability to get one is required
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required
Must be able to do pipe stress analysis
