Responsibilities
Support the primary discipline design engineer by modifying or creating technical specifications, calculations, and drawings in support of one or more power line projects
Monitor their own discipline-specific products, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget
Design lines under the tutelage of a senior engineer using manual and Power Line Systems, PLS, Suite of software
Ensure that the Engineering work and Engineering support of Mott MacDonald is performed in a technically sound manner and completed in accordance with the Engineering Project Procedures and specific Contract requirements
Verify the Quality and Compliance of deliverables
Review deliverables to ensure they are consistent, sound and compliant
Identify, analyze, and resolve problems using engineering/technical skills
Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor personal work activities effectively
Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
Continuously improve job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Maintain accurate records and files
Verify that the Design Reviews have been performed and that Reviewer comments or issues raised are closed
Qualification
Required
Strong familiarity with the MS Office Suite, especially excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excel, Word and Microsoft office suite
P.E. License: Not Required however the candidate must be authorized and able to apply and obtain a PE License within four years. Passing score on the EIT exam is preferred
Preferred
Background in power system design for electrical alternating current (AC) underground and overhead lines
Power system design experience in High Voltage and Extra High Voltage, direct current (DC) overhead and underground lines
Experience with some technical applications such as: CDEGS, PLS CADD; CymCAPP; ETAP; AutoCAD; Bentley; etc
College Degree: BS Electrical Engineering preferred. Other Engineering disciplines considered
