Responsibilities
Underwriting healthcare business in accordance with company underwriting guidelines ensuring sound risk selection and enable profitable growth for the portfolio
Building and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale and retail insurance brokers to deliver customized insurance solutions for diverse healthcare accounts
Partnering with internal teams to drive growth in mental healthcare segment and identify opportunities in additional healthcare classes
Monitoring MPL market trends and jurisdictional developments while executing targeted marketing initiatives to maintain competitive positioning, create new business opportunities, and strengthen FAIRCO’s leadership in the market
Collaborating with Claims, Product Leadership, and Actuarial teams to design and price customized insurance solutions—tailoring limits, coverage, and terms for complex risks requiring flexibility
Promoting company products through marketing efforts, travel, and participation in industry conferences
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience underwriting medical professional liability on excess and surplus lines (E&S)
Proven track record of managing relationships and leveraging established connections with wholesale & retail broker markets
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel for client and broker engagement
Preferred
RPLU designation, a plus
