Responsibilities
Perform detailed thermal analysis and CFD simulations (FloTHERM preferred; ICEPAK acceptable) for electronic systems and components
Develop and specify thermal solutions including heat sinks, vapor chambers, heat pipes, fans, and thermal interface materials (TIMs)
Conduct thermal feasibility studies, airflow analysis, and pressure drop evaluations
Review mechanical designs (SolidWorks, Pro/E/Creo) to ensure proper integration of cooling solutions
Create and execute thermal test plans; supervise lab testing and interpret results
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system engineers to resolve thermal issues and ensure compliance with requirements
Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to engineering teams
Provide guidance to junior engineers and support cross-functional development activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME required)
5+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in thermal engineering for electronics
Requires strong proficiency in air‑cooled electronics, fan selection, airflow optimization, and heat‑sink technologies
Experience with liquid‑cooling architectures is a desirable plus
Proficiency with CFD tools (FloTHERM strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of CAD tools for model review
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Hands-on experience with thermal testing and lab equipment
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering
Background in networking, server, telecom, aerospace, or other high-reliability industries
