Responsibilities

Lithium Extrusion & Feeding: Operate the lithium extruder to convert bulk lithium ingots into continuous strips. Manage hydraulic pressures, temperature zones, and die alignments to ensure consistent feedstock quality
R2R Milling Operations: Run the proprietary Roll-to-Roll milling machine to reduce lithium strip thickness to target specifications with high surface quality
Independent Dry Room Work: Execute daily production runs autonomously in a low-dew-point dry room. You must be comfortable working alone in this environment while adhering to strict safety protocols
Equipment Maintenance & Design: + Perform routine maintenance on both the extruder (hydraulics, dies) and the R2R mill (rollers, tensioners). + Use CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) to design and implement improvements for material feeding, scrap collection, or die modifications
Data Analysis (Process vs. Performance): + Log critical process data (extrusion pressure, roller gaps, resulting foil thickness). + Develop Design of Experiments (DOE) to establish the relationship between process variables and electrochemical performance + Correlate mechanical process data with downstream battery cycle life and efficiency to identify optimal operating windows
Chemical Safety: Safely handle metallic lithium, perform waste disposal, and maintain a safe workspace according to EHS standards
