Laboratory Assistant Tier 2
COPAN Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant Tier 2 to handle microbiological activities and controls related to raw materials and finished products. The role involves performing routine microbiological evaluations, managing cleaning procedures, and ensuring compliance with GMP/SOP standards.

Responsibilities
Perform routine microbiological evaluation and control of raw materials, bulk, finished products, and production equipment
Microbiological bioburden controls of water, surfaces, and air
Bacteriological performance on the finished product after sterilization (where applicable); on incoming raw materials, semi-finished products, or finished products before the final sterilization as microbiological bioburden tests
Perform routine molecular testing on finished product (where applicable)
Manage cleaning procedures of the environment and production machines (packaging and filling machines) as defined in dedicated SOP
Qualification
Required
Experience working/operating in a laboratory setting
Must be capable of working in a GMP/SOP-driven environment
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in English
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and think critically
Problem-solving skills and collaborative teamwork ability
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Bachelor's degree in a related field required
Experience with QMS systems (1-2) years
Experience with supporting investigations: NC, OOS, OOA
1-2 years of experience in pharma, medical device, and/or medical laboratory setting
Experience with bacteria growing methods
Experience with microbiological dilution methods
Experience with baseline rules for microbiology laboratory workflow
Experience with using specific equipment and instruments used in a microbiology laboratory
Ability to work onsite in a lab, cleanroom, and/or manufacturing environment as needed
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Experience with formulation and measurements preferred
Experience with laboratory microscopes and performing gram stains
Experience in PCR, DNA/RNA testing methods
